My
name is Michael Schliesleder, and I’m a home
care nurse with Fairbanks Memorial Hospital Home Health
Care of Fairbanks, AK. My patient, Fred Meyn, is 61
years old and has been paralyzed for many years. He
is bedbound and suffers from peripheral vascular disease
and stage 4 pressure ulcers. He recently had to have
a leg amputated and requires negative pressure wound
therapy. Our nurses provide wound care, monitor his
healing progress, and report any changes in his condition
to his doctor. Without the compassionate care delivered
by our staff, Mr. Meyn would be unable remain in the
comfort of his home and would have to live out his
years in a nursing home. |
